This piece was a bit of an experiment with applying paint. Using a toothbrush I spattered extremely fluid paint on a horizontally placed canvas until I had the colors and surface where I wanted them.

An hour and a half, perhaps two... I think. Maybe more... Ha, I guess I have no idea.
That's really cool, does it actually have a raised texture like it would appear or is it all just implyed?
Thank you! The texture that you have spotted is indeed present rather than implied. Many interesting things occurred in the process of making it, globs of more viscous paint created little sort of islands for the more fluid paint to settle around and several small bubbles left minute cavities throughout the piece.

Did you you gesso (or however its spelled) to build up the texture? And what kind of paint did you use for the coloring?
